“Roma? Milano? How far have you traveled to experience gourmet Italian dining in a warm, casual but luxurious ambiance? GoodFellas Ristorante in Garfield has imported all of these pleasures and packaged them with an attractive decor of hand-painted walls, cherry wainscoting, and beautiful lighting for an air of quiet elegance. Family-owned and professionally staffed for impeccable service, GoodFellas opened in 1991. Each family member has added his or her special flair and expertise to make this a very successful dining spot. The talented chef has a special touch for creating extraordinary traditional and unique Italian dishes, each individually prepared with only the finest ingredients. From fresh fish and superior quality meats to homemade pasta creations, the daily specials menu is irresistible. Some of the best recommended dishes on the menu include Pollo Romantico (sautéed boneless chicken breast topped with eggplant, fresh tomato, peas, mozzarella and sherry wine sauce), Lombata Alla Karlito (veal chop stuffed with Bel Paese cheese, prosciutto, mortadella with a mushroom brown sauce), and Linguine Frutti Di Mare (linguine with shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams in a white wine sauce). The daily specials are always a treat and are created with fresh seasonal ingredients. One of the most popular salad choices is Insalata Di Spinaci and Ricotta Salata (spinach topped with dried ricotta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and olives with light dressing). Private parties are a specialty at GoodFellas. Special packages are created for bridal and baby showers, rehearsal dinners, small intimate weddings, holiday parties and social gatherings. For business meetings, a nine-foot TV screen and audio-visual equipment is available. The beautiful private room can accommodate up to 60 guests. On Sundays, when the restaurant is closed, the main dining room can seat up to 75 additional guests. With outstanding food, top-notch service and an elegant atmosphere, GoodFellas has all the ingredients to make your next special occasion a memorable event”. Zagat New Jersey Restaurants 2011/2012 “Revisit The Sopranos” in this “dependable” Garfield Italian, where the “classic” cooking comes in “ample portions” for prices that “won’t break the bank” and “friendly” service by “real Italian waiters” keeps it a local favorite.”
